“Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” —Luke 6:27–28
Jesus’ words are decidedly bold - and deeply countercultural. They ask more than kindness; they call us to live differently. Instead of walking through our lives with the lens of fear or self-protection, we are called to live with radical love, trust, and mercy.
This is definitely not just moral advice. It is, instead, a way of remembering who we are in God’s world. A world where the poor are blessed, the grieving are held close, and love is stronger than power or revenge.
On All Saints Sunday, we stood in that same truth. A thin place (as the celtic people call it). It is a holy remembering. We lit candles. We said names. And I hope we felt something ancient stir: The truth that lives not just in our minds, but in our bones - that those we’ve lost are not far, and that we are called to carry their light forward. The saints - famous or familiar - were not perfect. They got tired. They grieved. But they kept loving. And so can we.
This week, reflect: ● Who in your life needs unexpected love or grace? ● What “enemy” might you pray for—if only with one small word? ● Whose light are you carrying?
With peace, Pastor Erin

Principal Pastor Todd for a Day!
As part of a Ventura Chamber of Commerce program, Pastor Todd became Principal Pastor Todd for a day at Loma Vista Elementary, where “everyone has a spot”! Real Principal Wilcox showed him the ropes — from learning sign language with the Profoundly Deaf Class to helping with an art project for a special needs student to hearing about leadership from the student president. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with our wider neighborhood and strengthen ties through the Chamber of Commerce.
