Thanks to the wonderful work of the Youth & Family Vision & Interview Team, the Council approved hiring Nick deBos-Haigler to be our full-time Youth & Family Minister.  Nick officially begins work on July 5 but you can meet him at our July 3 Picnic Dinner & Fireworks event!

Learn more about Nick in his statement below:
Hello! My name is Nick deBos-Haigler. I am excited to accept the Youth and Family Minister position here at Trinity Lutheran Church.

My wonderful wife, Rachel, and I have been together for 10 years.  She is the head pastor at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Oxnard. We have an 18-month-old son, Hunter, who is a fun and compassionate kid with lots of energy. We have two dogs, Capo (3 years old) and Alfie (12 years old), both of whom are the greatest friends to everyone. We cannot wait for you all to get to know our family!

Originally, I am from North Carolina (which means I am passionate about my pulled pork). I am a huge fan of board games, card games, and video games. When I am unwinding, you will usually find me either reading a comic book or rewatching any of the Marvel movies for the 100th time.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Christian Missions from Pfeiffer University and a Masters of Divinity degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC. I have served as a missionary in Ukraine and Alabama working with college students to develop strong faith leaders who serve our communities. I have also worked as the Director of Youth Ministries at a United Methodist Church in Maryland leading confirmation, mission trips, VBS, and all other youth activities.

Throughout my ministry career, I have always enjoyed finding ways to bridge the generational gaps we often see in our churches. I look forward to meeting every one of you and building a relationship so that we can work together to create a wonderful and holy intergenerational program that exudes the love of God!
